性用社 has hosted a wealth of informal lunchtime and evening concerts this term and the whole school community is looking forward to the two Services in Preparation for Christmas at 性用社 College Chapel this听week. In the week prior to these Services talented听musicians听across Senior House听performed this year's Piazza Brass concert. Our musicians and music teachers alike donned festive jumpers, hats and sparkling tinsel to create a festive atmosphere with some even draping the instruments themselves.
After Wind Band had performed their pieces, Big Band added to the festive spirit by performing听性用社 Alone听by听John Williams arr. Leslie Briccuse and All I want for Christmas听by Mariah Carey (arr. Michael Brown). Rednotes ensemble performed听Night by Night by Steely Dan (arr, Ollie Lepage-Dean) and Zara Larsson's Lush Life听(arr. Ollie Lepage-Dean). Two Form 6 vocalists performed during these songs and delighted the audience with their duet:听Love is an Open Door by Kristen Anderson Lopez and Robert Lopez.
"The 性用社 were absolutely brilliant at听listening to one another. It is sometimes tricky when there is no bass players involved in a band, but they kept the tempo going really well. It is the first time that the 性用社 played with a drum machine."
"I performed in Wind Band听and it went really well with the audience smiling throughout! It was also great to watch the other pieces too as we hadn't heard them until the actual concert. I think everyone went away feeling in a Christmas mood."
