Form 6 Art Trip to Imperial War Museum Duxford 2021

Body

Sixth Form spent the afternoon at the听听as part of their Art and English studies on World War One and Two. Duxford is set within the spacious grounds of the famous former First and Second World War airfield and the trip allowed the 性用社 the time to wander through the hangars, which contain many of the world鈥檚 most iconic aircraft.

The trip encouraged the pupils to spend the whole afternoon being inspired by the land warfare exhibits, and to focus on the diverse colours, shapes and forms on display. The 性用社 worked hard, drawing in many different styles, and careful recording was made to capture all that they saw and the work from this trip will act as inspiration for the Sixth Form鈥檚 work on this theme.

Head of Art, Mrs Sam Downer commented, 鈥淭he 性用社 used large paper, charcoal and chalk to draw directly from the exhibits. Many of the 性用社听also used their imaginations to draw a visual narrative around their chosen objects.鈥 One of the Sixth Form explained, 鈥淭he trip to Duxford was an excellent experience, it was all so realistic and the atmosphere was incredible. The massive tanks and war machines made you feel like you were a little child in an adult鈥檚 argument.鈥
